The Carphone Warehouse Acquires Hugh Symons Communications
Announcement to HSC Customers:
We want you to be the first to hear that on the 7th December Hugh Symons Communications was purchased by The Carphone Warehouse Group plc.
Since our launch in 1994, HSC has continually strived to be the "distributor of choice", offering a complete proposition with one simple set of account terms for quality independent cellular resellers. We are very proud of how far we've come as recognised by various industry awards through the years, including Airtime Distributor of the Year 2005 at Mobile's Retail Awards last May.
The Carphone Warehouse was founded in 1989 by Charles Dunstone and is today Europe's largest independent mobile phone retailer. In addition to retailing, The Carphone Warehouse is also a telecommunications company in its own right including its own mobile virtual network operations and a corporate and residential landline service, TalkTalk.
Whilst maximising on its rapid growth and success, The Carphone Warehouse has been able to retain its original focus on providing excellent service and the widest product choice. We're therefore very confident that the additional strength and support we can access as part of the Carphone Group will only enhance our customer proposition and enable you to be more competitive with your customer offering moving forward.
The Carphone Warehouse sees the independent reseller community as a valuable market and one it wants to support and help grow. HSC is flattered that Carphone recognises that its objectives will be best served by investing in and building upon the customer service principles that HSC has worked so hard to achieve.
HSC was of particular interest to The Carphone Warehouse because of the quality of its people and their retention is key to ongoing success. You should be comfortable in the knowledge that the entire team will be kept together and located here in Poole. Where necessary we will build the team up to take advantage of the new products and services that will become available. All HSC employees are extremely positive about the acquisition and look forward to the development of our business.
We would like to reassure you that your customer base will remain confidential and under no circumstances will it be marketed to by The Carphone Warehouse, we will write to you shortly with full details of this protection.
